About
Something Blue Productions

Something Blue Productions is a Melbourne-based company, founded in 2017 by Anne Gasko. The company's aims are

  • to provide performance opportunities for emerging performers and creatives,

  • to support and encourage the creation of new work, and

  • to encourage networking and collaboration between creatives of all backgrounds.

In October 2017, we premiered our "Odds Sods and Thingamabobs" concerts, a series of shows designed specifically with those goals in mind. We aim to provide professional-level performance opportunities for composers and performers of all genres, as well as a place for creatives to preview upcoming shows and build their audience. We strive to provide an environment where creatives can perform what they want, in front of a wide and varied audience, without having to pay for the privilege.

In April 2018 Something Blue branched out and producing the sold out premier season of "Tinder Tales - A New Australian Musical", as part of the 2018 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. We are very excited to be continuing our passion of supporting new Australian works with a return season of "Tinder Tales" at Chapel Off Chapel in October 2018. Something Blue is also working with composer A. J. Ridefelt to produce a staged reading of his original musical "Post" in January of 2019.

Anne Gasko
Founder and Producer

Since graduating from Ballarat Arts Academy (Music Theatre), Anne has performed in shows, concerts and workshops across Australia. Anne has been a part of numerous musical theatre productions over the years, including the premier seasons of several new Australian works. In 2015 created her own solo cabaret, When I Grow Up, and in 2017 created a showcase soiree performance with Front and Centre. She is passionate about supporting new Australian theatre, as well as helping emerging performers expand their audience and gain experience. All this culminated in the creation of Something Blue Productions in 2017.
